What field exactly is relevant for this? Is there a list of WBS-compatible Macs? The main difference that I can see is that the newer one has the BCM20703A2 while the older has the BCM20702B0. The other difference is that on the Air 2013, Bluetooth is connected via USB, while in the MBP 2016 UART is used. The PacketLogger shows the SCO packets just fine, so the Bluetooth server could decode mSBC/WBS in both cases. Thanks for more info! Matthias

Hi Matthias,
Are there specific hardware requirements? Any other ideas?
Yes. That version of the Mac HW from 2013 does not have WBS support. You can look for bluetooth HW differences under: Apple Menu > System Information

Hi there
A customer of us is implementing a HFP HF device. On most other OS (iOS, Android, Windows), HFP WBS works as expected. On macOS, it works on my MacBookPro Late 2016 but not on a MacBook Air 2013, both with the latest OS version.
Looking at the packet logs, I cannot see a difference between both setups. Just before the SCO connection is opened, one Mac picks CVSD (BCS:1), while the other picks mSBC (BCS:2). The same happens with a Jawbone Jambox Mini loudspeaker for comparison.
Are there any rules on macOS that would prevent WBS (mSBC) from getting used? Are there specific hardware requirements? Any other ideas?
Here are the logs from both systems for the Jambone Jambox Mini: - https://bluekitchen-gmbh.com/files/Apple/MBA2013-wbs-not-working.pklg.zip <https://bluekitchen-gmbh.com/files/Apple/MBA2013-wbs-not-working.pklg.zip> - https://bluekitchen-gmbh.com/files/Apple/MBP2016-wbs-ok.pklg.zip <https://bluekitchen-gmbh.com/files/Apple/MBP2016-wbs-ok.pklg.zip>
