I just picked up the MS Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth. This consists of a bluetooth keyboard, mouse and USB transceiver. I'm using it with a dual-USB iBook 700. Basic keyboard and mouse functionality work well in OS X. However, OS X is unable to turn off the bluetooth adapter via the bluetooth menu. Also, if I unplug the bluetooth adapter and re-plug it, the keyboard and mouse will fail to work. Doing a 'killall -HUP blued' will get things going again. However, the computer will freeze up when I try to put it to sleep after this process. It does not matter whether the adapter was previously unplugged and in the USB socket, or whether it is absent at the time of putting the iBook to sleep - the computer will freeze up. Does anyone on this list have any idea how to resolve this matter? I suspect that once OS X is able to power-off the adapter via the bluetooth menu, this issue will be resolved or at least have a workaround. Are there any plans to officially support this combination? If I can get the hardware running reliably, I was seriously considering putting out free software to give Mac users access to the extra keys on the keyboard and extra mouse buttons. Currently, the IntelliType and IntelliPoint software from Microsoft do not work with this hardware.
