Chris, There's been a huge discussion lately on the Apple Java developer list on Apple's lack of support for Java altogether for OS X. Sheesh! There's actually more support for the JSR-82 on Linux than on OS X... ...and that's a crying shame Apple really needs to consider where it should focus its resources, because there are millions of Java programmers out there, compared to the thousands of Objective-C developers. Since Apple has a single stack for it's Bluetooth implementation (compared to the multiple stacks available on the Windows platform) it's actually an attractive platform for Java developers to use. With devices like the Nokia 6600 and the SonyEricsson P900, it would be nice to use the same language and API to develop applications on the mobile device and the desktop/laptop. Since the JSR-82 is the industry standard, it's only a matter of time before all mobile device manufacturers support it in their models.
