I'm trying to get a phone with Bluetooth IrMC to Sync with my Bluetooth enabled laptop and am having some trouble. Can this be achieved using the Bluetooth Serial utility even if the phone isn't in the supported phones list on Apple.com?

What are you doing exactly? Which mobile phone do you have? What trouble do you experience? You can use the Apple Bluetooth Serial Utility to bind a specific Bluetooth profile to a standard tty serial port.
