I have purchased an IOGear Bluetooth 4.0 dongle to use in the iOS Simulator for testing CoreBluetooth. I followed the instructions (http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#technotes/tn2295/_index.html) on 3 Macs running 10.7.4 and Xcode 4.3.2. When activating Bluetooth in the Simulator settings, it just "spins" forever, even if I leave and come back in. I then tried this: http://www.atpeaz.com/index.php/2012/using-unsupported-bluetooth-4-0-usb-don... (TL;DR: modified the IOBluetoothFamily.kext to add a blip to the Broadcom plugin to recognize the BCM20702A0 chipset) I can switch my Bluetooth back and forth to the dongle now using Bluetooth Explorer (and, in fact, contrary to the nvram setting, it was set to the dongle after a reboot), but when I switch the machine to use the internal Apple controller, and the USB panel in System Information shows it as configured, the simulator still spins forever. I did reset the settings in the Sim between each of these actions, FWIW. Please advise. :-) Thanks! _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
