Re: Updated Bluetooth SDK - PacketDecoder returns!
As it's been pointed out, I've posted the latest Bluetooth SDKs for Jaguar (v1.3.3) and Panther (v1.4.1) at http://developer.apple.com/sdk/#Bluetooth/ . The change History and new features for updated Bluetooth SDKs are documented in the installed SDK read me file. In addition, software update "Bluetooth 1.5" is now available. "Bluetooth 1.5" for Mac OS X provides support for Bluetooth enabled headsets and printers. NOTE: Headsets must support the Bluetooth headset profile and printers must support the Bluetooth HCRP profile. In order to configure and use a Bluetooth headset, the Bluetooth module must have the latest Bluetooth firmware from the Bluetooth Firmware Updater application version 1.0.2 or later (http://www.info.apple.com/usen/bluetooth/). For information about using Bluetooth 1.5 or about making your Macintosh Bluetooth-enabled, visit the Apple website at http://www.apple.com/bluetooth/. I apologize for the delay in updating the Bluetooth developer web page, but as you now know, there was more to come than just the update of the SDK. I'll work to have the page updated by the end of the day. Thanks for being so alert. Steve M. =======[ On Feb 4, 2004, at 10:19 AM, Ben Ralston wrote:
I came across an updated Bluetooth SDK on the developer sdk
(developer.apple.com/sdk/) page today. It looks like it was just
added on
2/2/04. For the life of me I can't figure out why there is no mention
of it
on the main Bluetooth dev page
(http://developer.apple.com/hardware/bluetooth/), nor why there was no
announcement on this list. That is the sort of thing this list is for.
Anyway, for those of us that were complaining loudly (like me) that
PacketDecoder functionality has been broken for several releases can
now
rejoice. The new SDK has updated debug .kexts that enable this
functionality...thanks Bluetooth team!
Apple, please be a little more responsive to this list. There is no
reason
why you couldn't have just told us to wait for the SDK to come out.
Just
ignoring us doesn't help anybody. Now it just created more work for
you
guys because I filed a bug report which now has to be removed.
