Hey Tom. FYI, you can skip steps 1 and 3 on your list and just immediately start taking spot measurements with any target selected. If you click the "I" info button in the measurements are it will show you a full set of values and a great, interactive, spectral graph. Check it out! ColorPort's capabilities are lesser known but are surprising for it's price (free). Scott Martin www.on-sight.com On Aug 4, 2012, at 1:05 PM, Tom P. Ashe wrote:
Hi Lou,
You can use X-Rite ColorPort 2.0, if you don't have i1Profiler. The download for the software is under Support.

The steps are to (1) create a test chart with the number of measurements you want to make, (2) take the measurements, (3) save the measurement file as Tab Delimited and choose the colorimetric and spectral data you'd like. You can then open the data in MS Excel.
All the Best, Tom

What software are people using to take spot reflective readings using Lion or Mountain Lion with an Eye-One Pro? (version 1)
I have used MeasureTool, Color Picker and other software, but they don't work under Lion. I'd prefer some FREE utility that is easy to use and allows me to read L*a*b* at a minimum. I can boot from a saved Snow Leopard partition, if necessary, but I prefer a replacement for future compatibility with the newer OS.
Thanks,
Lou
