From: Martha DiMeo <mmdimeo@mac.com>: The PlusTek scanner was recommended.
I have the PlusTek Opticfilm 7200 which I bought via ebay for a kickbutt price ($75) to perhaps replace my Minolta DimageScanII--I was seduced when I read about its high dpi scanning. I've not used it much at all other than to do some test scans to make sure it worked properly and the scans were fine--I am going to get around to scanning the rest of my slides real soon now...'-}} The OpticFilm 7200 is less sophisticated than my old Minolta DimageScanII in that you have to manually move the slide feed and no Digital ICE which I never used it on my Minolta, etc.. My guess is that the OpticFilm 8200i someone mentioned might have these options. I use Vuescan for scanning rather than the OpticFilm drivers--pc based, Win7Pro/64bit. I did give a passing thought to getting the Epson V750Pro--I have an Epson 2450 but I've never used it to scan slides/negs since I had the Minolta--which I've heard good things about but when I found the OpticFilm 7200 at such a good price (it didn't have a power cord but I was able to find the appropriate one online for $8), I've just kept my Epson 2450. Hope that helps... REQUEST: Could everyone please trim their replies of the previous post(s) because some of them are multiscreens in length. Thanks... Terrie http://tlbtlb.com/ tlbtlb@mail.com
