[perhaps i should have mentioned: superfine is uncoated.] same question but targeting cmyk plates for relief, uncoated paper again, using oil-based inks: what space here? has anyone attempted reference specifications for this? i expect dot gain is a huge variable. best, edward

Either "Coated GRACoL2006 (ISO-12747-2:2004)" which is Adobe's own GRACoL ICC profile or one of IDEAlliance's GRACoL2006_C1 profiles.
I know there is a new generation of GRACoL ICC profiles off IDEAlliance's web site, labeled "2013". You could use that one also.
Martin alluded to "ISO Coated v2 (300)" which should get you in the ballpark.
Personally, not that I have a preference for Adobe's.... but if I was in your shoes, I'd use Adobe's GRACoL's profile above. Who knows, it may very well become the new CMYK default in the future?
For sure, avoid SWOPv2 like the plague.
