I know that Profiler is using different files. I guess it is xml based. Can I use charts made with Profilemaker in new Profiler?
In the Patch Set workflow, you can import a legacy .txt file (reference or existing measured data file). Make sure you select txt. from the popup menu as it defaults to .pfx. You will then need to configure the instrument, page size etc. It is the Load button under Page Data in the Patch Set workflow. In the Test Chart workflow, you can only load the entire description of a target (patches, instrument, page size) from i1Profiler created targets (.tfx) although you can save them in several different formats. You could build a target in i1P and use it in ProfileMaker. Going the other way takes more work but is doable. That said, if you can avoid this approach and re-build new targets within i1Profiler, you’ll get better results in most cases. The new target (patch) generation engine is superior to the older PMP engine. IOW, if you were to take say a 1728 patch RGB legacy target built in ProfileMaker Pro and just asked i1P to build a new 1728 patch target, build a profile both ways, you’ll see a slightly better result with the newer target.
