"Hardware Store Tubes"

Hi Forum, Attempted to find this information searching the ColorSync archives but that was not as easy as I hoped. I recall someone reporting on their testing 'off the shelf fluorescent tubes' for use in colour viewing. I even recall a screenshot of the specifications printed on the Tube. Can't find it anywhere on my computer :( Is there an 'off the shelf fluorescent tube' that performs well? Thanks in advance, Dan Wilson
