It seems that my late JPG productions suffer some flaw, since they are rejected by an automated photo book publishing program. I am now thinking that maybe this is due to some error or bug in my programs. In my normal workflow I use LightRoom 5 and export the RAW files to Photoshop CS6 to apply some edits, then save them as TIFF 16 bit and they are automatically reimported in LR. When I need the photos, I export the TIFFs as JPG sRGB. Recently, I have seen inconsistencies in the export RAW to PS process. Some edits made in LR are randomly dropped in the process. Interestingly, if I export those same RAW to DxO Viewpoint for instance, they always match perfectly. This makes me think that the culprit is not within LR, which uses its own engine to send to DxO, but rather in Camera RAW, which to my understanding is used to open the RAWs sent from LR to PS. I have brought this to the Adobe discussion forum, but got no answer. I wished there was a way to force LR to use its own engine to process the files until the problem is fixed, but is there a way? The choice is offred only when the installed version of Camera RAW is outdated. Is this a known bug, or more probably a problem due to file corruption? Before reinstalling Camera RAW, is there an uninstaller for that app? Best regards Paul Schilliger
