lucky this came up, I'd just sent an offlist message to danny yesterday, which he seems to have missed. I did a review some time ago of the simple abilities of PatchTool http://photofeedback.blogspot.fr/search?q=patchtool Edmund On Wed, Jun 5, 2013 at 11:41 PM, Ben Goren <ben@trumpetpower.com> wrote:

As far as what you're looking to do, you could use the "Measurement" function and just define your chart as 1x1. There's also the ColorPort Utility (free) that will let you freely define a chart and allow you to look at the measurement colorimetry/densitometry without needing to save/export the data. It supports the i1Pro2 but only in "legacy" mode (M0, M2 only).
Also, if you're not afraid of the command line, ArgyllCMS includes a ``spotread'' utility that will not only print the values but plot a chart of the spectral response. Works great.
Cheers,
