A couple of people have asked about a copy - I am waiting to see what SMPTE's disposition of the paper will be. I will try to find out by the end of the month and hope either to post a reference or provide a link to a copy. Sorry for the delay, but SMPTE holds certain copyrights. There is both a written paper, which had to be somewhat abreviated, and a PowerPoint slide set covering cameras in particular in more detail, so I hope to be able to distribute both. ----- Original Message ----- From: "José Ángel Bueno García" <jbueno61@gmail.com> To: waynebretl@comcast.net Cc: colorsync-users@lists.apple.com Sent: Friday, February 3, 2012 2:14:46 PM Subject: Re: camera gamut Hello: 2012/2/3 <waynebretl@comcast.net>:
I presented a paper on wide gamut imaging at the Fall 2011 SMPTE conference ["Theoretical and Practical Limits to Wide Color Gamut Imaging in Objects, Reproducers, and Cameras"], with the presentation focused specifically on "camera gamut." It has not yet been published in print, but I think I can summarize some helpful points here.
Do you mean published to public audience? Or there is a PDF online anywhere? I would like to know if the analisys report differences between CFA and Foveon sensors. Agree with the statement on comercial success of cameras as consumer devices, not as professional devices no matter the camera and sensor size. Salud
