Actually, in the new order (Process 2012) there is no Brightness slider. Exposure affects all levels on the image in a fairly linear manner, while the Whites slider has a fairly similar effect when moved to the right, but less effect on the darker sections of the image then the Exposure slider when moved to the left. In practice, I adjust the mid tones with Exposure, and the top end with Whites, adjusting the lower highlights against that with the Highlights slider. There is a similar balance between the Blacks and Shadows sliders on the low end. On Oct 17, 2012, at 4:42 PM, Barry Rudick <barryr@azphoto.com> wrote:
Today someone asked me the difference between the brightness and exposure sliders in Adobe Camera Raw interface.
I could not come up with the proper answer. I know that the brightness slider would be same as moving the center slider in the histogram dialog to a higher number.
The exposure slider I am not sure about.
