Thanks everyone. The firmware password is fine. It's the user password that I have somehow, not on purpose, I messed up. For now, I am re-installing Mt Lion with an USB stick. Agreed this is not a colorsync issue. And, all of you know much much more than me. Your assistance is priceless. On Apr 29, 2013, at 7:52 AM, Andrew Rodney <andrew@digitaldog.net> wrote:
Chris is right, it will do a reset. It's saved my butt a few times.

He doesn't have the original password, so that will not work!
It will work. The command line command is 'resetpassword' you don't enter the old password. It produces a dialog that guides you through what user to set a new password for.
But this question seems distinctly off topic for this list. Password problems on colorsync users?
