David, Just because they announce new machines doesn't mean the existing models have stopped working! Just add some RAM ($100) to your current Macbook Pro, and you will have a speed boost. Moving to a PC if you are a Mac person is a major hassle, especially if your habits are set and you have to do your own maintenance. I do think that Apple's apparent decision to drop the 17" shows they are out of touch with their user base, since another photographer complained to me yesterday. What PC do you use for digital imaging?
I need to chose a PC for digital imaging. I have been Mac for years. What Apple has done, eliminating the 17 inch display completely, and charging $90.00 for the non glare 15 inch display, has frosted me.
I do have the 17 inch non glare MacBook Pro available to me. However, I believe it's time to leave the Apple family!
My requirements are non glare 17 inch display…… almost anything else would fall in place. No SSD's.
Thank all of you in advance.
