ProfileMaker on Yosemite via Snow Leopard Server
Can anyone comment of the viability of running ProfileMaker Pro installed within an installation of Snow Leopard Server on a computer running Yosemite? ___________________________________________ RICK GORDON EMERALD VALLEY GRAPHICS AND CONSULTING ___________________________________________ WWW: http://www.shelterpub.com
Nothing to do with Yosemite but I'm running ProfileMakerPro 5.10 for Windows on Windows 8.1. Ah! Windows... / Roger -----Original Message----- From: colorsync-users-bounces+graxx=videotron.ca@lists.apple.com [mailto:colorsync-users-bounces+graxx=videotron.ca@lists.apple.com] On Behalf Of Rick Gordon Sent: 23 avril 2015 16:06 To: ColorSync List Subject: ProfileMaker on Yosemite via Snow Leopard Server Can anyone comment of the viability of running ProfileMaker Pro installed within an installation of Snow Leopard Server on a computer running Yosemite? ___________________________________________ RICK GORDON EMERALD VALLEY GRAPHICS AND CONSULTING ___________________________________________ WWW: http://www.shelterpub.com _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. Yes, it runs fine. Getting the dongle properly connected to the virtual machine can be fiddly, but otherwise it’s fine regards, Steve
Do you mean a "Windows" virtual machine, Steve? Or do they have OSX "Virtual machines" now? Please excuse my gross ignorance in advance... / Roger -----Original Message----- From: colorsync-users-bounces+graxx=videotron.ca@lists.apple.com [mailto:colorsync-users-bounces+graxx=videotron.ca@lists.apple.com] On Behalf Of Steve Upton Sent: 23 avril 2015 19:37 To: ColorSync List Subject: Re: ProfileMaker on Yosemite via Snow Leopard Server

Yes, you can install Snow Leopard Server as a virtual machine in VMWare or similar applcations, and have a way to access applications that were orphaned by the demise of Rosetta. Rick Gordon --------------------- On 4/23/15 6:23 PM, Roger Breton wrote:

No, I mean OSX 10.6 running in a virtual machine on top of 10.10 (or whatever) Apple has some licensing restrictions so for 10.5 and 10.6 to run in a VM they have to be the server versions. For 10.7 and later they can be normal desktop versions. Regards Steve
