I'm pretty certain that I know how to calibrate a display on a Windows PC. I've done it many times. However, I have recently questioned my process because on a recent calibration I could not actually see a difference before and after calibration. I think I might be missing a step. Can someone point me to some document or article outlining how to calibrate a display on a Windows PC? Are there "gotchas" with respect to administrator privileges or anything else? We will be using basICColor as the calibration software. Thanks in advance for your help. Ken Fleisher

Some products 'befor and after' don't work <g>. I recall some whereby the first time you calibrate, you see the before. But thereafter, the 'before' is the state of the display from the last calibration which doesn't make much sense. What you could do is view an image that is obviously not previewing correctly in a non ICC aware app. Something in say ProPhoto RGB. Or as I suggested, come up with a bad display profile that shows obvious color casts just to ensure it is being accessed and used. Andrew Rodney http://www.digitaldog.net/
