Hey Ethan. Are you saying it will hold the XL diagonally? Scott Martin www.on-sight.com

Lightware's 1217 holds an iSis and a smaller laptop with (some) room to spare. Shoving a Colorchecker in as well would work and with creatinve divider rearrangement, you should be able to squeeze in your i1.
Be careful, the iSis XL is susceptible to transport damage, and this damage is not detected by the diagnostics. Edmund ᐧ On Mon, Aug 31, 2015 at 8:10 PM, Scott Martin <scott@on-sight.com> wrote:

Edmund, can you say more about this? Even with the head lock enabled? And does the new iSis2 XL exhibit the same problem as the 1st? Scott Martin www.on-sight.com

I’ve used the Storm 1610M case for years…..appears to be Pelican branded now. Had one for the DTP70 and DTP41 and then bought a second one for the iSisXL and sundries. Only issue I had was that the wheels would break after 3-4 years of use but it looks like the wheel system has been redesigned. I’ll also mention that if you’re storing your equipment in one of these for long periods of time (more than a few weeks), leave them open or pull the equipment out. The pull-apart foam material will start to leave a sort of sticky residue on equipment after a while….maybe some sort of out-gassing? Having said all that, I loved my Storm cases. Regards, Terry Wyse
There is NO problem, it is just that the diagnostics, at least at first, could not spot mechanical disalignment of the head if the unit was bumped in transit. When I got my original XL from Xrite, it was packed very economically and must have got dropped in transit and the head somehow got disaligned. The diagnostics (then) couldn't see any problem, but all the profiles were bad. Maybe the updated diagnostics are better. I took the train to Zurich and brought back the replacement in person to avoid transport issues again, and it proved to be a very good successor to the DTP-70, capable of running huge 5000 patch Atkinson charts. If you transport this device, pack it well. It is an expensive piece of precision equipment, and deserves to be handled with care. Whoops. My mistake. I didn't see that you were toting the XL version. We have used the Lightware 1217 for the standard iSis. No way an XL will fit. -Ethan

I wish Pelican had a long and skinny version that would accommodate the XL without a lot of extra bulk. FWIW, I’ve discovered that the Lightware Z600 long lens case fits the XL well as a carry on item. More importantly, it fits the smaller iSis and an i1Pro2 and all the cables and a few accessories even better. Traveling color geeks might want to check it out! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/31371-REG/Lightware_Z600_Z600_Long_len... Scott Martin www.on-sight.com
