Monterey is bad news if you work with legacy print data formats like EPS & DCS. The OS is unable to generate icons or preview (bar tap) EPS files in the Finder. Some Macs running Monterey are no longer able to open EPS images in Preview. This bug also stops 3rd party cataloguing software from working properly if it relies on the Mac OS to generate previews. -- Martin Orpen Idea Digital Imaging Ltd
The OS is unable to generate icons of ICC profiles! But the profiles work which is nice. Andrew Rodney http://www.digitaldog.net/

I looked into the icon issue and it turns out the ColorSync Utility no longer specifies itself as the 'editor' of ICC profiles, so the Finder/OS doesn't know where to get the icon. (though the icon is still within the app) I'm fairly certain it's an oversight and I let Apple know about it...

Yes it was indeed a bug, but now it's fixed and will eventually arrive in some version of the OS, don't know where, don't know when, but we'll have icons again some sunny day...
