Monitor Calibration Software
We had been using ProfileMaker Pro for monitor calibration throughout our institution (with the exception of ColorNavigator for the Eizo monitors), but when we finally get OS 10.8 installed on our Macs we can no longer use that. I am looking for a cross-platform solution to calibrate monitors throughout our institution. We use the I1Pro. What are the recommendations for calibration software with an option for a site license? I'm aware of basICColor, i1Profiler, ColorEyes Display Pro, ColorMunki as possible options (though I don't know about the site license options). Are there other software solutions that you would recommend? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? Thanks. Ken Fleisher
Try dispcalGUI. 2013/5/30 Ken Fleisher <PT_Ken@netbox.com>

This is a great suggestion and one that I was considering already. Unfortunately, I don't think it will work out because on the web site < http://dispcalgui.hoech.net/#requirements> it states: General system requirements - A recent Linux, Mac OS X (10.4 up to 10.7, 10.8 is not yet supported by Argyll CMS—if you want to help make it happen, please consider donating to the Argyll CMS project <http://argyllcms.com/>) or Windows (2000 or newer) operating system. Since the whole reason to switch is because we are moving to OS 10.8, I don't see this as an option right now. If someone knows otherwise that Argyll CMS "is" supported on 10.8, please let me know. Ken
Sorry, I haven't installed in the latest computers yet. 2013/5/30 Ken Fleisher <PT_Ken@netbox.com>

I've never had a compatibility problem with Argyll, and I generally stay up-to-date with both. 1.5.1 works perfectly on 10.8.3, as does the previous version. I also can't recommend Argyll highly enough. It's superb, it's free, and the support you get for free by Graeme himself as well as others on his mailing list is also great. (I'd suggest -- I've never heard Graeme suggest but I'll go ahead and make the suggestion -- that those who use it for commercial work have a moral obligation to throw some pennies his way, but that's between you and your conscience and your checkbook.) I've heard good things about the DispCal GUI frontend for it, but I've never felt the need to give it a try myself. Cheers, b&
I always had good results with basICColor Display and its US cousin, ColorEyesDisplayPro. And I must say Spyder Elite 4 has some interesting features.
