Re: Kodak Custom Color Tools
From: Chris Protopapas .... But it's worth it, the concept of being able to edit a profile using the tools one is familiar with in Photoshop is both obvious and brilliant.
as has been mentioned there was Doctor Pro from Horses/Colorvision?... it worked precisely this way and worked very well including the use of adjustment layers. I used it for a variety of conventional and none conventional purposes like editing partition curves into profiles for multi density monochromatic inkets (quadtones) in faux cmyk mode. I still fire up and old Mac once in a great while and use it. I don't know what the Kodak software could do that it could not... but I know some people who might be interested to know their software is still appreciated.. Tyler

I recall using that product too. I don't think it had all the bells and whistles, some quite necessary as the Kodak product. I can't recall exactly but I don't think it allowed individual edits per profile table. It edited both which while sometimes useful, is sometimes not desired (tweak just the soft proof part of the profile, leave the output alone). This product was from Harry Bowers (where are you Harry)? They also had a product that built a profile after measuring something like 8 or 16 patches, again if memory serves. Way before it's time although I don't recall the profiles being very good. But we're talking the days when measuring patches meant using a ColorTron II or Digital Swatchbook. Ah the good old days...
