Re: colorsync-users Digest, Vol 21, Issue 56
Hi Tom, As Claas notes below, True Tone effects the color on external displays. The plus with the M1 Macbook Pro display is that internal calibration is quite good and Apple provides several presets and you can make your own. I made an edited version of Photography (P3-D65) with 120 Nits brightness. The 160 default is too bright. I run my Eizo at 120 as well. You can use a different white point of you prefer. --David David Remington Manager, Digital Imaging and Photography Services Harvard Library Discover and Access D-70A Widener Library Cambridge, MA 02138 p 617-495-4701 w https://imaging.library.harvard.edu<http://library.harvard.edu/preservation/digital-imaging> e david_remington@harvard.edu<mailto:daivid_remington@harvard.edu> Message: 2 Date: Tue, 6 Aug 2024 10:15:37 +0100 From: "Morse, Tom" <tom.morse@uk.dk.com> To: colorsync-users@lists.apple.com Subject: Colour appearance on external monitor changing with Laptop lid Message-ID: <CAGoaZorMXBjCe0rpMQxWFTGxMeK4m7r=-gBEyCuwSOOkiOWvbw@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Hi All, Hoping someone can help me with this conundrum. We use Apple M1 laptops connected to Eizo CG monitors for colour accurate work. The monitor is calibrated using the internal monitor sensor and the correct profile is showing in display settings. The monitor is mirroring the laptop. Now, when the Laptop lid is opened or closed, the monitor's display shifts warmer or cooler, with no change in display profile. Is this normal behaviour? I can't fathom why, or work out how to stop the shift... and it begs the question, which is the correct colour? Thanks! Unfortunately this setting influences also the external display (I?d call that a bug). Best regards Claas
