Sal, Your post is very misleading. You should have mentioned that you "made the switch" to Mirage because you are now working for Mirage as their US Business Development Manager. The ColorSync user forum is not the appropriate place to make your Mirage sales pitch, or to misrepresent the Overdrive RIP. I'd like to point out that Overdrive and Mirage are not interchangeable. The workflow, color management, and file processing are different. Overdrive is a true multi-user RIP server with Pantone matching. Mirage has some nice features, but it is sold as a single-user license, which is not cost-effective in a group setting. Just to be clear -- Overdrive does not use a proprietary format to print directly from the RIP server. It can also be used to print from any Adobe application, from any computer (and mobile device) on the network. This is my first post on this forum, and hopefully the last on this topic. I felt it was important to clear up any misconceptions about our product. Larry Spevak President, ColorBurst Systems

Could you address this Sal? Mirage might be everything you say it is....but to compare your product against a competitor's without mentioning the fact that you work for Mirage is a bit disingenuous to say the least. Time to come clean. :-) Full disclosure: I happen to represent "best in class" products such as X-Rite, GMG, ColorBurst....and many, many others. The fact that the post was so one sidedly in favour of Mirage pretty much gives the game away. If there was any sort of detail of what was good and bad about both products, the post might have some value, but it seems that Sales people simply can't help themselves.... Graeme Gill.
