help getting into the 10.8.3 without the user name password.
How do I get into the 'back door' of 10.8.3? Somehow I must have changed the user password! I need help getting into the 10.8.3 without the user name password. This has nothing to do with firmware password. Thanks in advance. David Millers' Photography L.L.C David B Miller, Pharm. D., member 3809 Alabama Street Bellingham, Washington 98226 360 739 2826

He doesn't have the original password, so that will not work! David Scharf DAVID SCHARF PHOTOGRAPHY -- On 4/29/13 1:54 AM, René Damkot wrote:

It will work. The command line command is 'resetpassword' you don't enter the old password. It produces a dialog that guides you through what user to set a new password for. But this question seems distinctly off topic for this list. Password problems on colorsync users? Chris Murphy
Chris is right, it will do a reset. It's saved my butt a few times. Chris is right, this really is an odd subject for the list. Andrew Rodney http://www.digitaldog.net/ On Apr 29, 2013, at 8:32 AM, Chris Murphy <lists@colorremedies.com> wrote:

Thanks everyone. The firmware password is fine. It's the user password that I have somehow, not on purpose, I messed up. For now, I am re-installing Mt Lion with an USB stick. Agreed this is not a colorsync issue. And, all of you know much much more than me. Your assistance is priceless. On Apr 29, 2013, at 7:52 AM, Andrew Rodney <andrew@digitaldog.net> wrote:

That is like using a bunker buster to make a hole for planting a sapling. René Damkot provided the exact correct advice in the very first response.

You should've tried René's advice. That'd take about 5 minutes including the boot and reboot time. Reinstalling the OS and then you'll have to reinstall apps and user data… it could take hours. Or days. Chris Murphy
Well that IS good to know then! Colorsync user group or not. DAVID SCHARF PHOTOGRAPHY *DAVID SCHARF PHOTOGRAPHY* http://www.electronmicro.com On 4/29/13 7:32 AM, Chris Murphy wrote:
