Adobe Color Printer Utility (ACPU) - Mac 10.8.5
I actually want to print a profiling target on a new Epson 9890 and – having only Photoshop CS5 and CS6 – it seems the viable option is to use ACPU. I've done so successfully in the past when I only had CS5 installed (and I'd guess 10.6.something) - but trying it now yields only a blank piece of paper. I've tried on two different machines (same specs on each) with the same result – a blank printout. ACPU indeed opens and displays the TIF (ECI2002CMYK i1_iO_1_2.tif), but rendering a preview (and opening in Preview) from the OS print dialog box in ACPU then also shows just a blank sheet. Any suggestions/workarounds? It's admittedly been awhile since I've had to profile a printer and I'm a bit rusty on the updated protocol (if there is such a thing in color management – updated protocols that is hehe… ). Are you sure you want to do a CMYK profile? My tests of CMYK printing under Linux showed that the printpath situation there for a Tiff is hopeless, and I do wonder whether the Mac is much better these days as some of the print codebase is shared. On the other hand, RGB profiling with ACPU should work, and I think Xrite's i1Profiler software shoudl be able to print its targets seamlessly.
