Epson 7800 HT driver
Fiery XF only has HT driver to Epson 7800. I've never once played with an HT driver. If I create epl using CMYK color mode instead of CMYKcmkk color mode will the Epson driver internally still use the light inks? thanks -- Dan Bergstrom | Color Technology and Quality | PRIMARY COLOR ORANGE COUNTY http://www.primarycolor.com<https://webmail.primarycolor.com/owa/redir.aspx?C=51c888e17de443a98e67cfca77ee9b61&URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.primarycolor.com> | T 949 660 7080<tel:949%20660%207080> C 949 616 4986<tel:949%20616%204986>
Hi Dan, the Fiery XF “HT" drivers in “CMYK" mode do not use light inks as they control the printer channels directly, not thru an Epson driver or plugin. HT driver in “CMYKcmkk” mode, as the name implies, make use of the respective light ink channels. Best regards Claudio On 05 Oct 2016, at 21:59, Dan Bergstrom <DanBergstrom@primarycolor.com> wrote:

Just to possibly avoid confusion, using the HT driver and “CMYKcmkk” mode, the calibration (“EPL”) and profiling are still treated as CMYK, not multi-channel…..Fiery XF will do the mixing of light inks but there is some control of light inks during linearization. CMYK mode is useful where you’re dealing with a substrate that can’t handle the extra ink volume of the light inks…substrates such as newsprint and uncoated matte papers. Terry
