I concur, and I wonder to what extent these 14-bit LUTs are "programmable"? I hate to ask the question but it's a feature I always took for granted? On the Dell specs Wire gave the link to, they talk about LUTs that are "loaded", see towards the middle of the page, they refer to LUTs as "Precalculated sets of values". I confess I'm confused. I don't know enough about monitor calibration to say for sure and I don't want to speculate.

I guess the same can be asked of the NECs and the Eizo's?
Both are with their software products (IOW, SpectraView for NEC). The SpectraView Engine has an autocorrecting sensor that corrects the color and brightness of the backlight in real time. The monitor is equipped with a programmable 3DLUT, there are up to 10 programmable presets or roll your own.

The NEC is probably a 3% better display than the Dell at 4x the price But I can hear it now: "Do not profane NEC!" On Tue, Jan 7, 2020 at 17:29 Wire ~ <wire@lexiphanicism.com> wrote:

Kind of sounds like a priestly proclamation. <g> "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence."-Carl Sagan Provide some evidence of this percentage. Do tell us which NEC SpectraView you own, and how you colorimetrically came up with this percentage value using what instrumentation and software. Or is it more assumptions like "The point about there "cameras not having gamut" is another priestly proclamation?" Andrew Rodney http://www.digitaldog.net/ <http://www.digitaldog.net/>
