Hello all - I have been out of the pre-press proofing game for about ten years, and I could use a little advice. I do some work for a small retouching house, and we would like to be able to add CMYK proofing to our list of capabilities. We are going to be using an Epson P800. I will be creating all of my own custom paper ICC profiles and I am wondering: 1. What is the best Epson proofing paper to use that will allow me to be within specs of the major proofing standards? 2. What is the most economical RIP that I can use? Again, it is a small shop, with one major client that will need proofing. I don't need the most robust RIP out there. Thanks! -- Mark Franzen
Paper: Depends on the proofing standard you’re wanting to match….but Epson Standard Proofing Paper Production is good for GRACoL proofing. RIPs: ColorBurst Overdrive is likely you’re least expensive option. Regards, Terry Wyse
