Darwin-dev mailing list (Darwin-dev@lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/darwin-dev/site_archiver%40lists.appl... I am *completely* new to Darwin programming, and this idea probably won't work at all: a couple of times, the battery ran down and the book went into (due to some bug) a "permanent sleep" mode - indicator light was on, USB ad FW power lines were on but nothing would wake the computer. So, not knowing about the hibernate feature (I should have just pulled the battery), I did a hard reset (power button) instead. But I made copies of both the sleepimage and swapfile0 files, but not the app_profiles folder (except in one case). Is there any way to rewrite the part of Darwin that specifies the path to the image files, so I might be able to restore the computer to a previous state (or change the path before putting the computer to sleep)? Or at least restore it enough to pull off some web addresses from minimized windows in Camino..), or is there other information (processor registers, etc) that are stored somewhere else that are needed) As I said, probably impossible..
