NextBSD is implementing them in FreeBSD, so there is already a use case of launchd and libxpc api out there, though NextBSD's libxpc was reverse engineered. I agree Linux needs a well designed interprocess communication mechanism instead DBus, I hope NextBSD can provide an escape route for us.
