no, darwinports rsync is the plain vanilla one; we're currently working on a rsync-ea -or whatever it'll be called- port with EA support that can be installed alongside the vanilla one. -Markus

You can fix this problem by just installing 'rsync' from darwinports; this way you do not need to rely on the buggy version from Apple.
