I am a complete newbie on this one, so I hope you could bear with me. This is my first time to lay hold on anything related to MAC OS... All I need to do is to debug through the darwin's hfs code. (i.e. when I insert an HFS-Plus-formatted CD, i want to debug through the hfs code to better see how it works). What I did was I downloaded the files found in http://gobsd.com/code/darwin/xnu/bsd/hfs/. I didn't download any other files (is this ok?). I would like to ask how I could compile this in Xcode. (i.e. do I just add the files in a new XCode project, etc. etc.) I'm sorry if this seems so elementary to you. I had been searching through the internet, but I haven't found the solution yet (most probably because I don't know exactly what to search for). Raneil Building a kernel used to be a pain but Kevin van Vechten has made it very much easier with the release of darwinbuild. You'll fine details, and more of the sources you'll need, at opendarwin.org Here's the link for darwinbuild itself <http://www.opendarwin.org/ projects/darwinbuild/> This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
