The document at <http://xmlsoft.org/threads.html> says that libxml2 must be compiled —with-threads as a necessary precondition for using it in a thread-safe manner. Can anyone confirm whether the library was built that way on 10.6.x? 10.5.x?
I don't know for sure, but I think it's pretty likely, since otherwise there would have to be a warning in the NSXML documentation stating that it could only be used on the main thread. And I know of at least one OS-provided service (PubSub) that uses libxml2 that can be run on a background thread (and is, in Mail.) —Jens _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
