I am looking for a version of the string(3) library, but adapted for Unicode strings. [Ifound CFString but not clear if there is a one to one mapping of CFString functionality to string(3) functionality.] Am I missing something obvious (if so sorry!) The most portable way would be to use wchar. See wmemchr(3) and multibyte(3). It requires the locale to be sett correctly though, and typically work in UTF-32. If that's not what you're looking for you can use CFString or some third party library.
