Is launchd handling the accepts? Nope. Well, if you specify inetd compatibility, it may, but I hope you're not using that option. The theory of operation with launchd is that how you demultiplex and dispatch your work is your problem. In the case of sockets, that includes calling accept(). If you want an event loop, go for it, fork () per connection? Great. A worker pool of threads? Awesome. Whatever works best for you. launchd will stay out of your way. Also please please please don't ever assume that only one socket is in the array. I really want system administrators to feel that they can add additional socket declarations to jobs and "everything should just work (TM)." :-) If so, how do I find out when something has been accepted? If not, do you have any idea what's going on with launchd here? Can you please attach your launchd configuration file and if you could, a distilled version of your code that exhibits the problem?
