From 'man pmset' : " reduce - reduce processor speed (value = 0/1) " I'm on a G5, but hopefully it works on the new Intel Core's too. This is probably off topic, but anyways. But I am getting desperate. Is there a way for me to force an intel imac to run at a lower frequency ? My problem is that I am one of those energy sensitive persons that can't use cell phones. I have a brand new system sitting there that I can't use. Together with a nice 23 inch display. I am reasonably sure that if I can lower the clock the problem will go away. Since the source isn't there, I can't fix it myself. Barring that, you could try disabling one of the core's. You can do this if you install the CHUD tools, which adds a System Pref Pane, called "CPU". This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
