I am not a x86 assembly expert, but I am pretty sure that jmp does not take an immediate address as a parameter. I am also not an x86 expert, but I think that jmp _does_ take an immediate offset (as your second example demonstrates) or absolute address <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JMP_(x86_instruction)>. The hotel wireless is slow enough here to prevent me from downloading the manual linked on that page to figure out exactly what is possible with jmp.
