Hi,
I am using Darwin Mac OS X Kernel Version 8.10.1. Can I reliably upgrade to Leopard? Is there a document which accurately describes how to?
It's not entirely clear what your question is here. If you mean you are running Mac OS X Tiger, and you want to upgrade "Darwin" (in this context the BSD subsystem and Kernel) to the corresponding components from Mac OS X Leopard using the open-source components, then the answer is no. The internals of the higher layers of Mac OS X tend to depend on the internals of the lower layers of Mac OS X, and the internals can change quite significantly between major releases. If you mean you are running Mac OS X Tiger and you want to upgrade to Mac OS X Leopard, then go for it. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC094Z/A/Mac-OSX-Leopard If you mean you are running some sort of "pure" Darwin installation based on the 8.x releases, and you want to upgrade to the 9.x releases, then the answer is sort of.
