Back in 2001 there was a discussion on cocoa-dev regarding the creation of new CF types: The answer was basically: No, you can't do this. Use CFMutableDataRef as a wrapper for your data instead. Does anybody know if this situation has changed or is the CFMutableDataRef approach still the way to go?
