So it appears that the (undocumented) nobrowse option is actually intended to hide mounted Volumes, rather than stop things like fseventsd sniffing it. So I'm back to the question: how can I disable fseventsd (with the added twist: without hiding the device from Finder) on my device? Thanks for any help.
