CPU reset GPIO & latest powerbooks
site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: darwin-dev@lists.apple.com Hi ! I know it's an odd question but I would really appreciate if somebody from Apple could find an answer to it ;) So basically, earlier machine models used to have the CPU soft reset line connected to a KL GPIO (used on SMP boxes to bring CPUs up, but fortunately for me also wired on UP boxes). This was a very useful kernel debugging tool as I could use a firewire controller to remotely toggle the GPIO and thus get a 0x100 exception even when the CPU was locked up with interrupts disabled. I'm currently chasing a lockup of the latest albooks (in linux) but couldn't seem to trigger a 0x100 with any of those GPIOs (nor a couple of other random ones I tried). Is there a way to do the same thing at all on those machines models ? Thanks in advance for any reply, Regards, Ben. _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. They will be ignored.
