site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: darwin-dev@lists.apple.com ok seems I was to fast in posting, I did something wrong. I followed these steps and now it runs at 1 Ghz. I will post more later. I am going to remove the shielding around the machine now. :-) Thank you very much Roberto sysctl -w speedit.setFID=0 On 23 Jun 2006, at 17:21, Roberto Cruz wrote: Regards On 23/06/2006, at 17:11, Dirk Schelfhout wrote: It works :-) for a few seconds, then the mole people change it back. :-( On 23 Jun 2006, at 10:56, Roberto Cruz wrote: On 14/06/2006, at 19:30, Dirk Schelfhout wrote: Hi, I am forced to work on a G4 laptop that can't use the new display. Kind Regards, This email sent to rcp@cryptonome.com Download Speedit V0.5 open a terminal an navigate to the directory of SpeedIt type sudo -s You will be asked for the password ./install.sh sysctrl -w speedit.setFID=0 and you have your iMac Core Duo running at 1.0 Ghz Regards This email sent to rcp@cryptonome.com _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. Ok do the following by now do not make sysctl speedit or sysctrl - a, this will bring back the default settings ( sorry security measure) do only what I explain on the las email if you want to check do sysctl kern or sysctl kerrn. what ever but do not show syctl speedit.setFID this change back to defaults. I introduce a security reset, and I left it on V0.5, if you show sysctl speedit.setFID will reset to defaults. Just don't make the system call this with sysctl -A or sysctl speedit, This is probably off topic, but anyways. But I am getting desperate. Is there a way for me to force an intel imac to run at a lower frequency ? My problem is that I am one of those energy sensitive persons that can't use cell phones. I have a brand new system sitting there that I can't use. Together with a nice 23 inch display. I am reasonably sure that if I can lower the clock the problem will go away. Since the source isn't there, I can't fix it myself. Please don't tell me to go and see a doctor. ( I personally am sure microwaves is the next asbest thing, but that discussion doesn't belong on this list ) Dirk _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
