This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com Hi, I am trying to build some things on 10.3 using the 10.4 SDK, and the behaviour of ld is making life difficult. It seems that implicitly linked libraries do not honour -L paths (even if -Z is passed), hence, a program which links in libSystem.dylib will fail to link. eg: The cross-development feature was introduced to allow developers to target older system releases with the latest toolset. If it doesn't work going the other direction it may be (note my speculation) because it was never tested that way. The suggestion to ask on a tools-related list is a good one. This may also warrant an enhancement request/bug report. smime.p7s
