site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: darwin-dev@lists.apple.com Hi, I am playing with IPv6 and have recently set up Apache 2 old on PowerMac, which I use as a server. The Mac running the server is a PowerPC G4 with 10.4.11 and my main Mac is an MacBook Pro with 10.5.1. The Apache2 server responds to IPv6, when I query it from locally, using http://[::1], using Safari. On the other hand when I try accessing the server, from my Intel machine, using the IPv6 address specifed by the en0 interface I can't connect: http://[fe80::230:65ff:fed6:b164] or http://[fe80::230:65ff:fed6:b164%en0] No idea if the second is valid form? Additionally, on the server computer, doing: ping6 ::1 responds, but ping to either fe80::230:65ff:fed6:b164 or fe80::230:65ff:fed6:b164%en0 (its own address) responds in: ping6: UDP connect: No route to host The interface, as described by ifconfig is: en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::230:65ff:fed6:b164%en0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet 192.168.2.101 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.2.255 ether 00:30:65:d6:b1:64 media: autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>) status: active supported media: none autoselect 10baseT/UTP <half-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 100baseTX <half-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 1000baseT <full-duplex> 1000baseT <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 1000baseT <full-duplex,flow-control> 1000baseT <full-duplex,flow-control,hw-loopback> If anyone has a better IPv6 background I would appreciate the suggestions. Note: when doing this tests I have no 6to4 (aiccu or miredo) established. Andre _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. They will be ignored.
