According to the document available at http://developer.apple.com/ documentation/MacOSX/Conceptual/BPSystemStartup/Articles/ CustomLogin.html, you can define Login _and_ logout items.
I know you can define Login Items but Logout Items is new to me. Is this really possible using the loginwindow.plist and how is someone supposed to define a logout item (since this is not explained in the documentation)?
If this is just a typo in the documentation, what is the recommended way to start a task at logout?
Login and logout hooks are a common way to run scripts at login or logout. <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301446> can be used for login or out hooks. If you have a managed deployment then you can define hooks with mcx as well. Bombich has a lot of good info as well. <http://www.bombich.com/mactips/loginhooks.html> Josh -- Josh Wisenbaker U, U, D, D, L, R, L, R, B, A, Start for your server http://www.afp548.com _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
