Precisely, in the meanwhile, I've downloaded and built GDB 7.2 from FSF with success! "catch exception" is working well and it is really useful. If you are interested in Ada, I'll post some details on www.macada.org list. Even not being a GDB expert, is there somebody knowing about OSO file? What could issue this warning? You'll probably have better luck getting an answer on the GDB list.
