I've even been using the version that went out today on some of my own machines for awhile now without encountering this error... I came across this because it was reported on the fink-users list; "fink selfupdate-rsync" doesn't work any more. Then I did some tests myself and confirmed. One more point: I have one machine where the security update was not yet done and when I rsync --delete between this machine and an updated one (both ways), the delete works on the side with the old rsync, but not on the one with the new rsync.
