I thought maybe somebody here might know. ] The ranlib/libtool manpage says I should prefer libtool -static over ranlib. Is there any technical reason for this? Both seem to work fine, but libtool -static gives a warning about .o files that have no symbols, which is annoying when you have a zero-warnings policy.
